Recep Adanır — Biography
"Baba" Recep Adanır was born on 3 May 1929 in Ankara and spent most of his playing career at Beşiktaş. He also played for Ankaragücü, Kasımpaşa, Galatasaray and Karagümrük, represented the Turkish national team, and is remembered as one of six players to carry the nickname "Baba" ("Father") in Turkish football.
After retiring as a player he went on to manage Beşiktaş. Adanır died on 20 May 2017 in Antalya at the age of 88, and his former club continues to honor his memory with commemorations on the anniversary of his death.
