Rahim Zafer — Biography

Born on 25 January 1971 in Adapazarı, Rahim Zafer is a former Turkish international footballer and coach who played as a defender. He began his career at Sakaryaspor before making his name at Gençlerbirliği and, above all, during a long spell at Beşiktaş, and he earned two caps for the Turkey national team at the 1996 European Championship. Later in his career he also turned out for Diyarbakırspor, Adanaspor, Kırıkkalespor and, in South Korea, Daegu FC.

After retiring in 2006, Zafer worked as assistant manager at Kastamonuspor, Uşakspor and ABB Bugsaş SK, had his contract renewed as head coach of Vanspor in 2010, and was appointed manager of Adıyamanspor in 2012. In 2014 reports said he had purchased a football club in the United States.
