Raci Şaşmaz — Biography

Tayyar Raci Şaşmaz (born 30 October 1973 in Elazığ) is a Turkish screenwriter, producer and director. He is the brother of actor Necati Şaşmaz and the elder brother of director Zübeyr Şaşmaz.

He began his career alongside Osman Sınav with the series Deli Yürek (1998), followed by work on Ekmek Teknesi (2002) and Kurtlar Vadisi (2003). In 2004 he founded Pana Film, through which he wrote and produced the Kurtlar Vadisi franchise and its sequel series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu (2007).

He also produced the films Kurtlar Vadisi Irak (2006), Muro: Nalet Olsun İçimdeki İnsan Sevgisine (2008), Kurtlar Vadisi Gladio (2009) and Kurtlar Vadisi Filistin (2011). At the end of 2013, during the eighth season of Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, he left the company after a dispute with his brother; he later became one of the creators of the series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz (2015).
