Pınar Aylin — Biography

Fatma Pınar Aylin is one of the recognised voices of 1990s Turkish pop, reaching a wide audience with her breakout song Deliler Gibi. Besides singing she has worked as a songwriter, composer, actress and television presenter, and in 2017 she published her first novel, Peri Masalı. She has lived in her hometown İzmir since 2012.

While studying public relations and advertising at Ege University she presented youth programmes on TRT İzmir, and after graduating she made her own shows on a local channel. She began her music career in Istanbul in 1994. Her first album, Ben Bahara Hazırım (1995), with songs such as Karar Ver and Körkütük, sold strongly by the end of the year and won her the Altın Kelebek award for best newcomer female soloist. Güneşten (1997) followed, and then Ay Işığında (1998), regarded as the peak of her career, which includes the duet Don't Make Me Wait with Michael Damian. Çöl Fırtınası (2000), released through Sony Müzik, brought a newer, more modern image.

After the birth of her daughter she took a break and returned in 2004 with No.5. She reached the final of the first season of Buzda Dans, played the maths teacher Mimi in the series Bez Bebek and founded her own company, Pin Production, in 2011. In 2016 she won a copyright case over the unauthorised use of her old songs, and the ruling was upheld by the Court of Cassation. She released two digital singles in 2019. In May 2026 she said she does not like rap music and is wary of digital music production.
