Pierre Esser — Biography

Pierre Esser was born on 4 December 1970 in Cologne, Germany, and developed as a professional goalkeeper. Later in his career he acquired Turkish citizenship under the name Cengiz Dülgeroğlu, while also representing German clubs such as Fortuna Düsseldorf.

His time at Galatasaray was brief: he made his only appearance for the club on 17 January 1997 against Vanspor, a match that ended 1-1 after he conceded a late goal. That single outing turned out to be his last for Galatasaray, and it remains the defining moment associated with his career in Turkish football.
