Paul Dawkins — Biography
Born on 10 June 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan, the 1.96-meter Paul Lamar Dawkins began his professional basketball career in the United States, appearing in 57 games for the Utah Jazz during one NBA season. He then moved to Türkiye, where he spent eight seasons with Galatasaray, becoming a Turkish citizen in 1984 and going on to become the club's longest-serving foreign player, known for wearing jersey number 13.
Dawkins was inducted into the Northern Illinois University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame in 2007, and he retired from playing in 1990. Remembered as one of Galatasaray's legendary imports, Paul Dawkins passed away on 26 March 2019.
