Özgür Doğan — Biography

Özgür Doğan (born 1978 in Varto, Muş province) is a Kurdish film director, screenwriter and producer. He studied at the Faculty of Communication of Ankara University.

He made his name with İki Dil Bir Bavul (On the Way to School), which he made together with Orhan Eskiköy and which was released in Turkish cinemas in October 2009. His second major work, Babamın Sesi (Voice of My Father), reached cinemas in November 2012; the two films remain the ones he is best known for.

Alongside directing he has worked as a producer and co-producer, and his films have been screened at events such as the Ankara International Film Festival.
