Özgür Bayer — Biography
Özgür Bayer (born 4 April 1979 in Sarıbeyler, Balıkesir) is a Turkish former footballer and football coach. He also holds German citizenship. He played mainly as a centre-back, but could also be deployed as a right-back or in right midfield.
During his career he appeared for numerous Turkish clubs, including Kocaelispor, Trabzonspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor, Ankaragücü, Denizlispor, Boluspor, Gaziantepspor, Karşıyaka, Giresunspor, Adanaspor and Osmanlıspor. In 2015 he made headlines for beating cancer. After retiring from playing, he moved into coaching.
