Öykü Serter — Biography

Turkish television host Öykü Serter was born in Ankara in 1975 and finished school at TED Ankara College. She studied American Culture and Literature as an undergraduate at Hacettepe, went on to a radio-and-television postgraduate degree at Galatasaray, and is now working toward a cinema-and-media doctorate at Bahçeşehir. A national-level breaststroke swimmer in her youth, she is reported to have collected close to 800 medals over her swimming career, roughly 250 of them gold.

She broke into broadcasting spinning records as a disc jockey for Capital Radio, went on to produce shows for Number 1 FM and for Cine5, and later fronted a long run of Turkish talent and competition formats: among them Fenomen, Anadolu Rüzgarı, Biri Bizi Gözetliyor, Star Akademi, Bu Tarz Benim, Rising Star Türkiye, Akademi Türkiye and İşte Benim Stilim; she additionally served as a moderator on Survivor Panorama and hosted Şef Akademi starting in 2021. That body of hosting work earned her the Kristal Fare, Altın Kelebek and İTÜ EMÖS prizes. She has also acted on occasion, taking parts in İstanbul Şahidimdir, Ah Polis Olsam and İşler Güçler; in July 2026 she was called to give witness testimony, alongside figures such as Ece Üner and Gökhan Özoğuz, in an investigation into the group popularly known as Ahbap.
