Orhan Kaynak — Biography
Orhan Kaynak was born on 1 March 1970 in Adana and played as a forward before later working as a coach. He was one of five footballing brothers — alongside Reşit, Kayhan, İrfan, İlhan and Ayhan Kaynak — from a well-known football family whose roots trace back to the Kocadurmuşlar lineage spanning from Kayseri in Central Anatolia to Çukurova on the Mediterranean coast; the family adopted the Kaynak surname after Turkey's Surname Law.
During his playing career in the Süper Lig with Adanaspor, Trabzonspor and Kocaelispor, he became known as "Küçük Orhan" ("Little Orhan") to distinguish him from teammate Orhan Çıkırıkçı at Trabzonspor — a nickname that stuck with him for the rest of his career even though he spent only two seasons at the club.
After retiring from playing, Kaynak moved into coaching and was serving as an assistant to head coach Fatih Tekke at Trabzonspor when he died of a heart attack on 10 March 2026; his death was mourned as the fifth heart-related loss suffered by the football-playing family.
