Orhan Çıkırıkçı — Biography
Orhan Çıkırıkçı was born on 15 April 1967 in Kırklareli and had a career as a Turkish winger and, later, a football coach. He wore the colours of Çorluspor, Eskişehirspor, Akçaabat Sebatspor, and, for the longest stretch of his career, Trabzonspor (1989-1999), while also earning 29 caps for the Turkey national team and taking part in the 1996 UEFA European Championship.
His quick, flowing style of play earned him the nickname "Son of the Wind" among fans, and when Trabzonspor later signed another player named Orhan Kaynak, the media began calling him "Big Orhan" to tell the two apart. Regarded by the Trabzonspor community as one of the club's legendary players, Çıkırıkçı went on to hold coaching and assistant-coaching roles after retiring from the pitch.
