Orhan Ak — Biography
Born on 29 September 1979 in the Koğukpelit neighbourhood of Kocaali, Sakarya, Orhan Ak spent his playing days as a defender for Turkish clubs before moving into coaching. He began at the amateur club Et Balık Spor, was noticed after a 1995 under-15 friendly against Germany, and joined Kocaelispor's academy at 15, making his official debut for the club in 1997 and winning its first-ever Turkish Cup that same season. Ahead of the 2003-04 season the left back or central defender moved to Galatasaray, where over five years he added a league title and another cup, before spells at Antalyaspor and, on loan, at Ankaraspor.
He joined Bucaspor in 2010, becoming notable for scoring the club's first-ever Süper Lig goal, and closed out his playing career at Boluspor, Elazığspor and İstanbul Başakşehir. He represented Turkey at under-17, under-21, B and full international level. Once his playing days were behind him Ak took charge of Eyüpspor in October 2025; after publicly raising concerns about the club's financial troubles, he parted ways with it in January 2026.
