Onur Ünlü — Biography

Onur Ünlü (born 24 June 1973 in İzmit) is a Turkish film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, poet and musician. A graduate of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Anadolu University, he later earned a master's degree at Marmara University's Faculty of Communication. Between 1993 and 1998 he wrote poems under the pen name "Ah Muhsin Ünlü", later collected in the book "Gidiyorum Bu".

He entered television in 1999 as a screenwriter on the series Deli Yürek, in which he also played a small role. He wrote, directed and produced his first feature film, Polis (2007), and reached wide audiences with the surreal comedy series Leyla ile Mecnun and the surreal drama Şubat.

His feature films include Güneşin Oğlu (2008), Beş Şehir (2009), Celal Tan ve Ailesinin Aşırı Acıklı Hikâyesi (2011), Sen Aydınlatırsın Geceyi (2013), İtirazım Var (2014) and Kırık Kalpler Bankası (2017). A new film titled "Kurumuş" was announced in late 2025.
