Onur Aydın — Biography
Onur Aydın, born on 15 March 1979, is a retired Turkish basketball player best known for his long spell with Beşiktaş JK. He began playing at Havutça Başakspor before moving to Istanbul as a teenager to join Beşiktaş's youth system, and from 1997 he also featured for various Turkish national youth and senior squads. Standing 2.03 meters, a height that was actually somewhat short for his role, he compensated with a strong frame and rebounding instincts that let him play power forward and occasionally center.
After eight seasons at Beşiktaş, Aydın moved to İzmir side Pınar Karşıyaka in 2003, helping the team reach the Turkish Basketball League semifinals in 2004. Following an appearance for the national team at the 2005 Universiade in İzmir, he went on to play for Banvit, returned briefly to Beşiktaş, and then represented Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyespor and Tofaş. He closed out his career in the early 2010s with second-tier clubs Selçuk Üniversitesi and Başkent Gençlik.
