Ömür Arpacı — Biography

Turkish actor Ömür Arpacı is remembered for characters who bring the Black Sea accent into comedy. Television audiences know him best as Reis in the series Yalan Dünya, and his Black Sea roles in Avrupa Yakası and Fırtına reinforced that image. In recent years he has also been seen in cinema and in comedy programmes.

Born in Akçaabat, Trabzon, he entered an inter-school theatre competition as a teenager but was turned away because the cast was already full. He trained in acting at the Müjdat Gezen Arts Center. He first appeared on screen very young, in a small part in Çiçek Taksi. In the early 2000s he made his name with Kurtlar Vadisi, Cennet Mahallesi and the film Hırsız Var! (2004), and he joined Avrupa Yakası for its fifth and sixth seasons. Yalan Dünya (2012-2014) brought him his widest audience. In the same period he acted in the films Aşk Geliyorum Demez (2009) and Bana Bir Soygun Yaz (2012) and appeared on the programme Komedi Türkiye.

Later he played Sadık Bulut in Gecenin Kraliçesi (2016) and Kazım in Arka Sokaklar (2018). In 2022 he joined the Güldür Güldür Show cast as Tufan. His films include Kızım ve Ben (2018), Leydi Di (2024), Efendiler and Oy'una Geldik (2025).
