Ömer Vargı — Biography
Ömer Vargı (born 1953 in Istanbul) is a Turkish film director, producer and screenwriter. He studied physics at Middle East Technical University.
He entered cinema in 1974 as assistant to director Şerif Gören on Endişe, written by Yılmaz Güney, and worked as an assistant director on various films until 1977, after which he spent many years directing commercials. He served as production supervisor on Eşkıya (The Bandit, 1996).
His directing credits include Her Şey Çok Güzel Olacak (Everything's Gonna Be Great, 1998), İnşaat (Under Construction, 2003), Kabadayı (For Love and Honor, 2007), Anadolu Kartalları (2011) and İnşaat 2 (2014); he also produced Gönül Yarası (Lovelorn, 2005). In 2025 he chaired the national feature film jury of the 62nd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
