Ömer Aysan Barış — Biography

Ömer Aysan Barış (born 23 July 1982 in İzmit) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

The turning point of his career came in the autumn of 2009, when he agreed terms with Trabzonspor in October and joined one of the Süper Lig's established clubs. His spell on the Black Sea coast proved short, however, and the two sides terminated his contract and parted ways in April 2010. He signed for Mersin İdmanyurdu in the summer of 2012 and later also played for Manisaspor.

In interviews with the Turkish press he repeatedly stressed his attachment to the game, telling the Turkish Football Federation in 2010 that "football is my love". He has since retired from playing.
