Olcay Çakır — Biography
Olcay Çakır Turgut, born on 13 July 1993 in the Konak district of İzmir, is a 1.82-metre point guard. She began her career in Fenerbahçe's youth system and won Turkish league (TKBL) titles with the club in the 2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons, along with a Euroleague Women runner-up finish in the same period. In 2013 she was picked 27th overall in the third round of the WNBA draft by the New York Liberty, becoming the first Turkish basketball player ever drafted into the league.
Ahead of the 2016-2017 season she moved to Spain's BGD Basketbol, before returning to Fenerbahçe for the 2019-2020 season. She then played for CB Avenida in 2023-2024 and rejoined Fenerbahçe once again in 2024-2025. With the national team, she represented Turkey at the 2015 European Championship and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
As of 2026 she remains part of Fenerbahçe Opet's roster during the club's European title run, and she is married to fellow basketball player Azmi Turgut.
