Okan Kocuk — Biography

Okan Kocuk is a 1.87 m goalkeeper who came through the Bursaspor academy and has won the Süper Lig with Galatasaray and finished third with Samsunspor. In 2024-25 he kept 14 clean sheets, the most of any goalkeeper in the Süper Lig. He now keeps goal for Samsunspor.

He started out in his hometown of Mustafakemalpaşa, moved to the Bursaspor academy in 2008 and signed a professional contract in 2015. He made his Süper Lig debut in a 2-1 win over Mersin İdmanyurdu. He was then loaned out twice for experience, playing 25 matches for Bandırmaspor in 2016-17 and 37 for İstanbulspor in 2017-18. In 2018-19 he returned to Bursaspor and played 22 league matches. In July 2019 he signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray; he was in the squad that won the 2019 Turkish Super Cup, was loaned to Giresunspor in 2021-22 and returned to share in the 2022-23 league title. He made 29 appearances for Galatasaray, nine of them clean sheets. In June 2023 he moved to Samsunspor on a three-year contract and renewed in July 2025.

He played at nearly every youth level for Turkey and kept goal for the A2 side. In November 2017 Mircea Lucescu called him up to the senior squad, but he did not play. In 2023 he said he wanted to earn a place in the national team again.
