Okan Çevik — Biography
Born on 8 June 1966 in Edirne, Okan Çevik graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1985 and from Istanbul University's Faculty of Dentistry in 1990. As a player he wore the colors of Tofaş (1995-1998), Türk Konyaspor (1998-1999), Darüşşafaka (2003-2005) and Karşıyaka (2006-2007) before moving into coaching; he also speaks English and French.
In 2009 he led Galatasaray's women's basketball team to a FIBA Eurocup title, and for the 2009-2010 season he took charge of the club's men's team, before being removed by the board in the wake of the Cemal Nalga scandal and banned for two years by the Turkish Basketball Federation. After a four-year break he returned to coaching with First League club Sinpaş Denizli Basket, and in later years also led clubs such as Pamukkale, Petkim Spor and Konyaspor Basketbol.
