Nurcan Çelik — Biography
Born in 1980 in the Şavşat district of Artvin, Nurcan Çelik was a former Turkish international goalkeeper. She began her football career at Bursaspor before rising through Turkey's youth ranks to the senior national team, and she was also the founder and president of the club Akdeniz Nurçelik Spor.
After hanging up her gloves, Çelik moved into coaching and became the first manager of Galatasaray's newly re-established women's football team, making her one of the pioneering figures of Turkish women's football. She died in Istanbul on February 14, 2026, and was laid to rest in her home province of Artvin.
