Born in Germany, Çalışkan has played for clubs including Borussia Dortmund, Orduspor and Gençlerbirliği. He joined Balıkesirspor in 2016 and played for Manisa FK between 2020 and 2023, bidding farewell to the team in April 2023.
In January 2026 the experienced midfielder signed for TFF Third League side İzmir Çoruhlu FK; later that year he was reported to be close to an agreement with Uşakspor.
