Nevzat Güzelırmak — Biography
Born in 1942 in İzmir, Nevzat Güzelırmak spent the bulk of his playing career as a defender for Göztepe, finishing with the second-highest number of top-flight appearances in the club's history. Known for a composed, disciplined style of play that earned him the nickname "İngiliz" ("the Englishman"), he also won 18 caps for the Turkish national team.
After retiring as a player, Güzelırmak moved into coaching, taking charge of clubs including Denizlispor. He died in İzmir on 12 October 2020, and several sports facilities and a street in his home city were later named in his honor.
