Nevşin Mengü — Biography

Nevşin Mengü (born 2 May 1982 in Ankara) is a Turkish journalist and television presenter. She attended the TED Ankara College Foundation Schools, took her undergraduate degree in political science at Bilkent University, and completed a master's degree at Galatasaray University with a thesis on social attitudes in Turkey. Her father is the politician Şahin Mengü.

Alongside reporting and presenting she works as a columnist; as of 2026 her commentary on Turkish politics and society appears in the newspaper Nefes. Citing her outlook on freedoms and her regard for the recognition of different identities, she describes herself as a liberal, and has said in an interview that she has been vegan since childhood.

Her commentary is frequently picked up as news in Turkey's polarised media environment and draws both support and criticism from across the political spectrum. In a statement reported in July 2026 she argued that the strength of the reaction journalists face makes some subjects difficult to discuss openly.
