Nevin Efe — Biography

Nevin Efe Polat (5 March 1947, Istanbul – 6 February 2026, Istanbul) was a Turkish actress and educator. A graduate of the Gazi Institute of Education, she spent many years working as an educator for the hearing-impaired alongside her acting career, and received an international award for that work.

Known especially for her roles in horror films and popular television series, Efe played Semra Aymar in Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu (Valley of the Wolves: Ambush), Hayriye in Büyük Yalan, Hatice Nine in Sahipli, and Güler Asiloğlu in Kirli Sepeti; she also appeared in series such as Aşk ve Ceza and Arka Sokaklar. On screen, she played the landlady in İncir Reçeli (2011), Duriye Ana in Kanlı Postal (2015), and Sadiye in Siccîn 3 (2016); in her later years she took roles in horror films such as Laz Kit (2020) and Cin Çeşmesi (2018).

Efe died in Istanbul on 6 February 2026, at the hospital where she was being treated for COPD, at the age of 78; she was buried at Ferhatpaşa Cemetery in Çatalca. The Turkish press mourned her as another painful loss for Yeşilçam cinema.
