Nedim Yücel — Biography

Nedim Yücel, born on 22 April 1979 in Istanbul, is a Turkish sports executive who transitioned from playing basketball to team management. He began playing in Beşiktaş's youth system in 1991, had a brief spell at Pınar Karşıyaka, and then returned to Beşiktaş; as a player he earned 10 national team caps and was noted for his athleticism and rebounding despite a physical disadvantage for his position.

During his playing career he also turned out for clubs including Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi, Türk Telekom and TED Ankara Kolejliler. He later moved into management, becoming general manager of Beşiktaş and also serving as general manager of the Turkish national basketball team.

In the summer of 2026 he signed a new two-year contract with Beşiktaş's management and continues to oversee the club's transfer activity as it pursues its EuroLeague ambitions.
