Necmi Onarıcı — Biography
Necmi Onarıcı (2 November 1925, Kadıköy – 21 August 1968, Istanbul) was a Turkish forward who turned out for Fenerbahçe, Kasımpaşa, Adalet SK and Vefa SK before later moving into coaching as a manager.
He was part of the Turkish national team that took part in the 1954 FIFA World Cup in Switzerland, the country's first World Cup appearance. His combative duels with German defender Josef Posipal during Turkey's match against West Germany earned him the nickname "Posipal Necmi" in the Turkish press of the era.
Standing 1.78 m tall, Onarıcı died at the age of 42 in Istanbul's Çatalca district.
