Nazlı Deniz Kuruoğlu — Biography

Nazlı Deniz Kuruoğlu is a ballet dancer and academic who was crowned Miss Europe in Istanbul in 1982, the third Turkish woman to hold the title. She worked as a dancer on stage and as a lecturer in movement science at a university, and today lives close to nature in a village near Kuşadası.

She graduated from the classical ballet department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul and performed as a ballerina at the state opera until a meniscus operation ended her active dancing career. In 1981 she was chosen Miss Turkey, which earned her the right to represent her country at Miss Europe, and on 12 June 1982 she was crowned Miss Europe at the final in Istanbul, following Günseli Başar and Filiz Vural as the third Turkish winner.

After leaving dance she taught movement science at her alma mater. She is a partner in a cosmetics company, paints, and enjoys outdoor sports such as horseback riding, motocross and off-road driving. She lives in the village of Caferli near Kuşadası, and the press today describes her as someone who works the land. In 2019 her reunion with Filiz Vural and Neşe Erberk after many years made the news.
