Nazlı Çelik — Biography

Born Ayşe Nazlı Çelik in 1977 in Istanbul, she is the daughter of Yücel and Semra Çelik, executives at Doğuş Holding. She completed her secondary education at The American School in Switzerland before pursuing a double major in Television and Video Production and Psychology at Emerson University in the United States, graduating with high honors.

She began her journalism career as a police and court reporter at the NTV News Center before moving to the morning program Güne Başlarken. In 2002 she took part in a television journalism program hosted by the U.S. State Department that included visits to the White House and the Pentagon. She joined Star TV in 2005, initially working as a reporter and weekend news anchor, and since 2011 has presented the channel's main evening news bulletin while also serving as editor-in-chief of Star Haber, a role she has continued into the 2020s.

Over the course of her career she has received multiple Best Female Presenter awards from the Turkish Journalists' Association. In her personal life, she was married to businessman Burak Öztarhan from 1999 to 2012, with whom she has a daughter named Kayra, and in 2014 she was briefly married to former Beşiktaş Club president Serdar Bilgili.
