Müzdat Yetkiner — Biography
Müzdat Yetkiner was a former footballer who came up through Fenerbahçe's youth system and left his mark on the club's history. Born in Istanbul, he spent his career in the yellow-and-navy shirt and also represented the national team. His name is often written “Müjdat” in sources, so he is confused with a later Fenerbahçe player of the same surname, though the two are not related.
He joined Fenerbahçe's youth side in 1938, moved up to the first team in 1941 and eventually rose to the captaincy. He is known as a defender. Between 1950 and 1954 he made eight appearances for the Turkey national team and was in the squad for the 1954 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. After his playing days he also served the club in administration.
Yetkiner died on 23 November 1994 in Istanbul, the city where he was born.
