Muzaffer Tokaç — Biography

Muzaffer Tokaç, born on July 22, 1922, was a Turkish international footballer. He spent much of his career at Galatasaray, where he is remembered as one of the club's historically important players. Known by the nicknames "Sarı Muzaffer" (Blond Muzaffer), for his fair hair, and "Cinci Muzaffer" (Muzaffer the Sorcerer), for his footballing craft and vision, he was regarded as one of the finest right wingers of his era and captained Galatasaray at times.

After retiring from active football, Tokaç and his family settled in New York, where he co-founded a trading company under the PAN-Turk umbrella with businessman Rauf Halat, and for a period also worked as a New York correspondent for the newspaper Milliyet.

He died in the United States, where he had continued to live, on July 14, 2009, and is remembered as one of the enduring names of Galatasaray's history and Turkey's national team.
