Mustafa Preşeva — Biography

Mustafa Preşeva, also written Mustafa Presheva (born 11 October 1961 in Mitrovica), is a Turkish film editor and actor of Albanian descent. His birth city lay in Yugoslavia at the time and is now in Kosovo. He studied film in Belgrade and has worked mainly as an editor since 1983.

In 1986 he won a Golden Medal for best editing at the Belgrade Short Film and Documentary Festival for the short Dying Woods, and in 1989 he was named Editor of the Year at the Pula Film Festival for The Fall of Rock and Roll. During the Yugoslav Wars he moved to Istanbul in 1992 and has worked in Turkish cinema ever since.

He took the Golden Orange for best editing at the Antalya festival three times: for Tabutta Rövaşata in 1996, Filler ve Çimen in 2001 and Vicdan in 2008. His editing credits include Vizontele, G.O.R.A., Organize İşler, Ayla and Müslüm, and he has appeared as an actor in films such as Asansör, Filler ve Çimen and Fırsat, repeatedly playing Atatürk thanks to his resemblance to him. He has also taught film editing at Koç, Bilgi, Bilkent and Kadir Has universities in Istanbul.
