Mustafa Pektemek — Biography

Mustafa Pektemek came into the world on 11 August 1988 in Akyazı, a district of Sakarya province. As a boy he caught the eye of local side Topağaçspor while playing in a school-team tournament and started his amateur career there, later moving through the youth ranks at Akyazıspor and Sakaryaspor. His scoring form for Sakaryaspor's reserve side in the 2006-07 season won him a place in first-team training, and he signed his first professional contract that year, making his Süper Lig debut against MKE Ankaragücü.

He joined Gençlerbirliği in 2008, where his goals quickly made him a key player, before moving to Beşiktaş in 2011 for a fee of around four million euros and winning a league title with the club. He later had a loan spell at Başakşehir and went on to represent clubs including Kayserispor and Eyüpspor, and was also capped several times by Turkey's senior side. In August 2025 the experienced forward signed with Güzide Gebzespor in Turkey's third tier, and he remains at the club today.
