Mustafa Denizli — Biography
Born on 10 November 1949 in the Alaçatı district of İzmir, Mustafa Denizli went on to become one of the most recognized figures in Turkish football management after his playing career ended. Coaching since 1987, he remains the only manager to have led each of Istanbul's three major clubs — Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş — to a Süper Lig title. Between 1996 and 2000 he was in charge of the Turkey national team, guiding the side to the quarter-finals of the European Championship.
His career also extended abroad, with spells in charge of Alemannia Aachen in Germany, Persepolis and PAS Tehran in Iran, and Khazar Lankaran in Azerbaijan. Frequently ranked alongside Fatih Terim and Şenol Güneş among Turkey's most successful coaches, Denizli built a long managerial career spanning numerous clubs both at home and internationally.
