Murat Salar — Biography
Hikmet Murat Salar (born 23 November 1976 in Hildesheim) is a German-Turkish former professional footballer and coach who played as a forward. Born to an Egyptian mother and a Turkish father in Germany, he began his professional career with SV Werder Bremen II in 1994 before going on to play for clubs including Bursaspor, Balıkesirspor, Gaziantepspor, Gençlerbirliği, Diyarbakırspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Altay, Adana Demirspor, Orduspor and Tarsus İdman Yurdu in Turkey, as well as Hertha BSC II, Türkiyemspor Berlin, Tennis Borussia Berlin, VfV Borussia 06 Hildesheim and FC Oberneuland in Germany. Over his career in Turkey he made a total of 49 Süper Lig appearances.
Salar won 4 caps for the Turkish under-18 national team in 1994, scoring his only goal for the side in a match against Romania on 6 October 1994, and later expressed an interest in representing Egypt at senior level. Following his playing career, he moved into coaching in Germany.
