Murat Dalkılıç — Biography

Sırrı Murat Dalkılıç is a pop singer who entered the scene in 2008 with Kasaba and writes his own lyrics and music. His work has also reached acting, directing and production, and he has won two Turkey Video Music Awards and one Altın Kelebek Award. He still performs live; in August 2026 he gave a free concert in Eskişehir.

He grew up in Kuşadası, formed his first band at school at fifteen and became a professional basketball player while still in high school; a year later he left the sport and turned to music, playing guitar in bars. He studied acting at Beykent University. His friend Murat Boz appeared in the video for Kasaba, and the song reached the top of the official chart. After signing with Sony Music in 2009, he placed songs such as "Kıyamadım İkimize", "Merhaba Merhaba" and "Çatlat" on the charts from the album Merhaba (2010). A second phase opened with Bir Güzellik Yap (2012): the title track and "Lüzumsuz Savaş" both reached number one on the official chart, and "Bir Hayli" was watched millions of times on YouTube. Daha Derine (2014), Epik (2016), Afeta (2019) and, in 2025, O followed.

He has written for others too: he wrote the lyrics of Emrah Karaduman's "Kırk Yılda Bir Gibisin" and co-composed Zeynep Bastık's "Şahaneyim". On television he hosted the contest show Söyle Söyleyebilirsen, acted in the series Sil Baştan and Mazlum Kuzey, and directed the film Ustalar Alemi.
