Murat Başoğlu — Biography

Murat Başoğlu, born in İzmir, is a presenter, actor and businessman whose path ran from modelling to television hosting, then to acting and business. Wide audiences came to know him through Sabah Şekerleri, which he hosted with Şebnem Dönmez; he went on to host the game show Benzemez Kimse Sana on three occasions.

He began modelling at 17 and moved to television after ten years on the catwalk. In 1993 he started acting as Tamer in the series Bizim Mahalle; in 1996 he presented Sabah Şekerleri with Şebnem Dönmez, and in 1997 the game show Görevimiz Tehlike with her again. As an actor he appeared in productions such as Nilgün (1999, series and film), 90-60-90 (2001), Zeybek Ateşi (2002), Tatlı İntikam (2007) and Makber (2010), and played Ercüment's man in the first three seasons of Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi.

In 2003 he took a break from television and founded the Biyer advertising agency, then opened a design office under the Tulipan name, trading design products under brands such as Takkunya, Bobblehead and Catoonbox. He returned to the screen in 2012 with Bir Milyon Canlı Para and Benzemez Kimse Sana on Star TV, and in early 2013 hosted Bir Fikrin mi Var? on TV8. In 2014 he played Haluk in the series Analı Oğullu and Faruk in the film Patron Mutlu Son İstiyor; his part as Sinan Mazharoğlu in Çilek Kokusu in 2015 is his last series role.
