Murat Akça — Biography

Born in Stuttgart, Germany, and holding both Turkish and German citizenship, Murat Akça is a central defender who rose through the Galatasaray youth academy to the first team in the 2006–07 season. At the end of the 2009–10 season he was among the players sent to Denizlispor as part of a deal that brought another player to Galatasaray, and he was then loaned to Second Division side Adana Demirspor to gain experience, quickly establishing himself as a regular starter there. On the back of that form he moved to Sivasspor at the start of the 2011–12 season, but left after Roberto Carlos took over as coach and his playing time dropped. He continued his career at Kardemir Karabükspor and Yeni Malatyaspor, and later played for Giresunspor, Altay and Pendikspor. Capped for Turkey at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level, Akça now turns out for Yalova FK 77 in the TFF 3. Lig.
