Mümtaz Sevinç — Biography
Mümtaz Sevinç (1 February 1953, Elazığ – 24 January 2006, Istanbul) was a Turkish stage, film and television actor also known for his voice-over work. After graduating from the Physics Engineering Department at Hacettepe University, he joined the Ankara State Theatre in 1978 and later became part of the Istanbul State Theatre company.
He became widely recognized as the Turkish dubbing voice of actors such as Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Paul Newman, and narrated numerous documentaries. During the 1990s he appeared in television series including Şehnaz Tango, Eltiler and Sihirli Annem. On 24 January 2006 he was killed at his home in Istanbul by his live-in partner, whom he had reportedly wanted to leave; the perpetrator was later sentenced to prison.
