Mousse T. — Biography

Mousse T., born Mustafa Gündoğdu, is a Turkish-descended DJ, producer and composer from the first generation of German house producers. He is best known for Sex Bomb, recorded with Tom Jones, while his 1998 track Horny '98 topped the dance charts. He still remixes and produces, and in 2020 Traxsource ranked him number one among house artists.

He began learning music at 13 and started out in 1990 as keyboardist in a small band. In 1994 he took the name Mousse T., set up his own studio and began DJing in Hannover; with partner Errol Rennalls he founded Peppermint Jam Records. His breakthrough came between 1998 and 2000: Horny '98 reached the top twenty in the UK and Australia, and Sex Bomb, from Jones's Reload, became an international hit. His first album, Gourmet de Funk, followed in 2002 and All Nite Madness in 2004. In 2005 he represented Lower Saxony at the Bundesvision Song Contest with Right About Now and placed fourth. He produced Zucchero's Il Grande Baboomba and Gianni Morandi's 2022 Sanremo entry, and remixed Tarkan, Michael Jackson and Kylie Minogue.

He has also composed for film, writing the music for Pornorama in 2007, and joined the jury of Deutschland sucht den Superstar in 2018. He has a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording and an Echo nomination.
