Mikâil Aslan — Biography
Mikâil Aslan is a Turkish musician of Zaza descent, born in 1972 in the village of Kardelen in the Hozat district of Tunceli province. He started out as a member of the band Grup Munzur before establishing himself as a solo performer known for singing in Kirmancca, the Zaza language. He is a cousin of fellow musician Ahmet Aslan and currently resides in Germany.
Beyond music, Aslan appeared in the 2010 documentary Two Locks of Hair: The Missing Girls of Dersim and has additional film and music-department credits. In 2026 he released a new album titled Gönül Gel Seninle and remained active on the concert circuit, performing in cities such as Diyarbakır and Adana, while also lending a solidarity concert in support of protesters opposing a geothermal power plant project near Varto.
