Metin Yıldız — Biography
Metin Yıldız (born 24 November 1960 in Sivas) is a retired Turkish footballer and football manager. As a player he operated mainly in midfield, most often on the left wing.
He spent the bulk of his career at Galatasaray, where he came to be counted among the club's legendary players. His form as a young man earned him several call-ups to the Turkey national team in the early 1980s; after being sent to Malatyaspor to gain experience he returned to Istanbul at the start of the 1988-89 season and played a part in Galatasaray's run to the semi-finals of the European Cup that year.
After retiring he moved into coaching. He served as assistant to Gheorghe Hagi at Galatasaray in 2004-05, then managed Çaykur Rizespor in 2005-06 and Etimesgut Şekerspor in 2006-07, and subsequently took charge of second-division Malatyaspor.
