Mesut Ünal — Biography

Mesut Ünal was born on 3 April 1973 in Istanbul and built his playing career as a centre-back, with notable spells at Süper Lig clubs including Bursaspor and Sakaryaspor. After retiring from active play he moved into coaching, where he became especially associated with Bursaspor's youth setup, earning recognition as coach of the year during his tenure there.

In the summer of 2026, Ünal parted ways with Bursaspor, and his name has since been mentioned in connection with the club's youth coordination role. He is also known as the father of Enes Ünal, a footballer who has represented the Turkish national team.
