Meryem Yamak — Biography

Ayşe Meryem Yamak (born 26 August 1962 in Soma), also known in Germany as Meriç Yamak, is a former footballer and coach of Turkish origin. She became the first Turkish-born woman to play professional football in Germany.

After ending her playing career, Yamak moved into coaching and, in 1998, became the first woman of Turkish origin to earn an A coaching license from the German Football Association (DFB) academy. She later took on representative and scouting duties in women's football on behalf of the Turkish Football Federation, working with both FIFA and UEFA.
