Mertan Caner Öztürk — Biography

Mertan Caner Öztürk (born 2 November 1992 in Fatih, Istanbul) is a Turkish footballer who plays as a winger. Sources differ on his date of birth: the Turkish, English and German Wikipedias and DBpedia all give 2 November 1992, while Wikidata records 3 February 1992; the weight of the sources favours the November date.

He came through the Galatasaray academy and played for the club's A2 team. He joined Altınordu in 2013 and Elazığspor in 2018, then played for Boluspor before leaving in 2021. In July 2022 he signed a one-year contract with a further option at Kocaelispor. He went on to become one of the leading scorers at Kastamonuspor 1966, and in January 2026 agreed a move to Mardin 1969 Spor.

Alongside football he has studied German language and literature at Istanbul University.
