Mert Somay — Biography
Mert Somay is a former Turkish footballer born on 8 January 1986 in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul. A midfielder, he began his career at clubs such as Gaziosmanpaşaspor and Bakırköyspor.
He made nine TFF First League appearances for Kartalspor during the 2007-08 season, and went on to play for Diyarbakırspor, Esenler Erokspor and Belediye Derincespor in the years that followed.
After retiring as a player, Somay moved into coaching staff work and now serves as an analysis specialist on Arda Turan's staff at Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.
