Mert Öcal — Biography

Mert Öcal was born in Istanbul in 1982 and, standing 1.92 meters tall, entered the modeling world early in his career; he was crowned Turkey's Best Model in 2004 and went on to win the World's Best Model title that same year. Building on that success, he moved into acting, appearing in films and series such as Asla Unutma, Nehir, Rüyalarda Buluşuruz, Oyun Bitti, Görgüsüzler, Kız Annesi, Bizim Okul, Mahmut ile Meryem, Aşk Yeniden and Defne'nin Bir Mevsimi.

Also known as a reality-show competitor, Öcal took part in the 2020 season of Survivor Turkey, where he met his future wife, fellow contestant Sude Burcu. The couple later married, and as of summer 2026 they have announced they are expecting their first child, keeping the baby's name under wraps.
