Mert Korkmaz — Biography
Mert Korkmaz (born 16 August 1971, Istanbul) is a retired Turkish footballer and coach who played as a defender. He is the younger brother of Bülent Korkmaz, the emblematic Galatasaray player.
At club level he played for Malatyaspor, Gaziantepspor, Galatasaray, İstanbul Başakşehir and Kocaelispor. Internationally he represented Turkey at under-21 level and with the senior national team.
After ending his playing career he moved into coaching and worked as an assistant manager at several clubs.
