Mert Çelik — Biography
Mert Çelik (born 10 June 2000, in Istanbul) is a Turkish-born footballer of Azerbaijani descent who plays as a centre-back. He began his professional career at İstanbul Başakşehir in 2019 and represented Turkey's U20 and Azerbaijan's U21 sides at youth level.
Çelik currently plays in Sivasspor's defence. In July 2026 he spoke publicly about the club's ambition to return to the Süper Lig, telling reporters, "I will wear this shirt in the Süper Lig too," underlining his confidence in the team.
