Melisa Can — Biography
Born Michelle Marie Campbell on May 12, 1984, in Iowa, Melisa Can grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, and graduated from Notre Dame High School before joining the Rutgers University basketball program for the 2002-03 season.
A power forward, she went on to build a professional career that took her to Turkey, where she played for Galatasaray, and briefly to the WNBA with the Chicago Sky. She became a Turkish citizen in 2010, adopting the name Melisa Can, and closed out her playing days with Samsun Basketbol İhtisas Spor Kulübü before retiring at the end of the 2018-19 season.
